Native
Americans in Recovery
A New Addictions Recovery Program From White Bison
The White Bison, Inc. Native
Americans in Recovery project is privileged to offer incarcerated
Native Americans a set of 54 AA and Alanon speaker
tapes to support and strengthen their own recovery
journeys in prison. These audio cassette tapes cover
the time span from the 1950’s up until the
present. Speakers on tape include Native American
men and women telling their recovery stories in AA
and in Alanon meetings.
Purpose of the Tapes
When these tapes become part of a drug and alcohol
rehabilitation program administered by state or federal
prisons here is what they offer inmates in recovery
from alcohol and other drugs:
• Native American inmates are
able to listen to other Native Americans' stories
about their recovery journey
• Will show Native American Inmates that recovery is
possible
• Will give hope to an inmate to hear that other Native
Americans are sober
• Will help the inmate know that he or she is not alone
in this recovery journey
Packaging and Cost
Fifty-four audio cassette tapes are supplied in nine
different hinged plastic cases, each case containing
six tapes.
Each set of tapes is available to federal and state
